Car unlocks itself immediately

Hi - anyone seen this before: When I lock the car (either with remote or just with key) it locks, and then within about 1 second unlocks itself again (ie the central locking is getting an unlock signal).

I guess it might do this if it thinks a door is open, but the door sensors seem to be behaving.

Do you get the same behaviour if you use the key to manually lock the car from the passenger door as well as from the driver door? I had something like this (a long time ago now) and from memory it was the passenger side solenoid that had failed. I could lock the car manually using the key in the passenger side but not when using the remote or locking with key via the driver door as it kept popping back open as you describe.

Does your interior light go off when it locks?
Could be bonnet switch. With bonnet open use a screwdriver and push the latch in as it it was closed and when you lock the car. Does you luggage light work?
I heard many years ago now corrosion can form on the connector on the bonnet switch in the trunk

Ian - yes it's the same behaviour both sides.
Graham - I've checked the bonnet and that's currently behaving as expected (catch closed=light goes out) - but interestingly I did have a problem last year with the alarm going off unexpectedly and that was diagnosed as being the bonnet catch. Some adjustment and the problem went away but it returned a week or two back so I disconnected the bonnet latch sensor. Currently doesn't matter if it is connected or not the doors still unlock themselves.

Anyone know which fuse is the central locking? Map inside the fuse box mentions every minor accessory but not the central locking! I figure if I take that fuse out I can manually lock the car!
