Macan SD or Petrol

Good morning, new to the board and currently a very happy Cayman 981S owner purchased last year through OPC.
Have sold the everyday Merc and have been tracking the Macan options and due to the incredible residuals it would appear to make more sense getting a full spec 10/218 model (ex demo or rare 2nd hand OPC) circa 48k - 50K rather than a 3 or 4 year old with low mileage at circa 38k - 41k
3 Questions I am wrestling with especially with the factory close down, non production of diesels anymore.
1 Will the petrol version offer greater residuals moving forward. Mileage wise I am on the cusp with 11000 miles PA and MPG is not a consideration
2 Will diesel versions start to depreciate quicker than previously
3 Will the facelift and increase volume of new Macans accelerate the depreciation of the original shape even though it us only a facelift

All very crystal ball I know but I thought I would ask the question as there will be a lot of people out there who know a lot more than me

Much appreciated in advance

I was reading an SUV review in Autocar a couple of weeks ago, and Andrew Frankel was saying that these cars are absolutely best suited to Diesel engines, and he concluded that the pre-facelift Macan Diesel was better than the new petrol models.
It's all to do with power delivery and economy. The death of diesel engine is exaggerated and the latest versions are pretty clean and are being constantly developed for a multitude of applications, including aviation.
Of course all combustion engine cars (petrol and diesel) are going to be progressively penalised until they are eventually phased out.
