GTS or Turbo S

hello all

a little help please.

in answering the often considered question "how many Porsches do you need" (the answer obviously being "one more") I'm considering a 2013 onward V8 Cayenne GTS or Turbo S -as pretty much a daily driver. I have had the good fortune to have had the use of more recent model year Cayennes; a couple of years ago a Hybrid and last month a new Turbo S for a week. So I'm familiar with the concept and philosophy of the Cayenne and I'm struck by how comfortable it is and how well it handles for a SUV. I can't afford the newer cars so I'm going back a bit. Everyone, inculding Porsche service technicians, says the V8 is a great engine, hence the slight narrowing down of model options.

So then, GTs vs Turbo S - I know the difference in power but what I'd like is any perspective on what are the relative strengths/weaknesses of each model and whether the standard steel springs on the GTS are preferable to the air system. I've found an example of each to go and see - both around 30K miles and similar prices.

All opinions welcome

In my humble opinion, comes down to personal preference. I have a 2012 (62) V8 Cayenne GTS that I have owned from new. I have also owned an earlier Cayenne TurboS (so am familiar with your situation). For me the GTS wins as it has a slightly more "athletic" profile (look at a GTS and TurboS side by side if you can) and I like the naturally aspirated V8. It sounds awesome, is smooth and very practical (including towing). For me the air suspension is a must have (comfort, normal, sport settings). Servicing/maintenance has been as expected. Cardan shaft and central CV joint seem to be a common issue (extended warranty covered mine). Both are great vehicles - tell us what you go for in due course.

As above, both have plus points air suspension is standard on the Turbo.
I personally prefer the Turbo purely from the silly grin from pressing the accelerator peddle
it never gets boring.
