Door lock buttons?

Tizzy

I bought some nice aluminium door lock plunger buttons to replace the plastic originals one of which has broken off on my car. They don’t have the visible red LED in them, but otherwise look good. In terms of fitting them anyone know if the plungers just screw out or is it a door card off job???

Cheers, Chris

Door card off. There's a wire to disconnect for the led. Not too difficult, if I remember.

Steve is correct. The flashing buttons come with a rectangular connector that sits on top of the door frame and two wires run to the button. There are two types of flashing button, one seems to control the flash in its rectangular connector and the other type seems to rely on a pulse getting sent from elsewhere. Anyway that matters not to you as you are going flash free!

I do like the flashing pins, very 80's!

Sorry to jump on this thread but I'm reassembling my door panels after the respray job I had done, anyone able to tell me where exactly the connector box attaches for the flashing door pin? It appears to have a plastic pin on the body which must attach somewhere on the door to stop it rattling around and being loose but I can't figure out where it goes! Also which route does the cable take from the head of the wiring loom across to the door pin?

It sits on top of the door frame, near to the lock button. There is a locating hole there for it. The locating pin points south when located if that makes sense! Can't remember wiring path off top of my head. I don't remember it being complicated.

Thanks Stuart,

Found a picture on a youtube video for removing the window mechanism!

My doors have been replaced when I had the bodywork and respray done and looks like I need to drill a hole into the top of the door for the connector box to attach, the doors must of been off a non-turbo 944...

Maybe a series 1 door? I'm sure they are almost exactly the same but they never had flashing pins.
