Wind deflector storage

New to the forum and Porsche ownership.

Ive just bought a wind deflector with the storage bag from eBay. Would there have been a strap to hold it in place in the boot?

I didn't have one, or see anywhere to put one. The bag, has pop clips on that look like they pop to something, but Im not sure what. Mine just sits at the bottom of it :)

I just leave mine in the bottom of the wheel well. Mark you are correct the two poppers are to fit it upright against bulkhead. The poppers should fit on buttons located in the middle recess in front of the battery

I think it’s supposed to fit in the storage area with sliding doors at about shoulder level behind the seats. Most of the time I leave mine in place because the car is not in everyday use and when I can I drive with the top is down. If I take it out I put it in its bag in the rear boot. My bag isn’t an original and is too bulky to fit in the correct place.

Hmm, my 996 and storage bag don't have any mutual fastenings and it always struck me what a cumbersome item it is when folded down to the point of taking up a lot of storage space.
Mine deflector stays in place all the time unless we're on a winter journey needing maximum luggage space ie the shelf over the engine bay and there's going to be 200% no prospect of roof-down time. The deflector bag lives with the hardtop.

Thanks, Geoff, I'll empty what's in the front (bags, small stools and some cleaning on the go bits lol), and look later, to see if I can see those on the bulkhead I appear to have missed. tbh, it's not doing any harm at the bottom, but it may give me some more much needed depth that i require on occasion. Ta :)

Thanks for all the replys

There is a Velcro tab across the middle and it’s long enough to attach on the bulk head, it’s holding it in place nicely while parked, not sure if it will say there while driving. Didnt find any popppers.

Now that the cooler weather is here and the chances of top down driving are less I removed my central plexiglass wind deflector on my 987.2 Boxster to reduce fogging of the rear window.

I have the fabric bag & there are no visible fasteners or Velcro on it. It does not fit in the sliding door cupboard between the seats- is there a place it’s supposed to be stowed whilst daylight saving is with us?

Yes in the front boot (frunk) flat against the bulkhead where it's supposed to Velcro stuck. You can always buy some Velcro strips if they've come off

Leave mine in place all the time. just folded down. `Though at night it acts as a good anti glare filter for the RVM if there’s bright lights behind you!
