P1328 and CEL - bank 1 inlet camshaft output stage - open circuit.

Has anyone experienced a CEL and the following code.... P1328 - Bank 1 inlet camshaft output stage - open circuit?

When it happens there is no difference in performance, I just reset the CEL and all is well until the next time.

does anyone know how to fix this permanently?

It is a Variocam Solenoid fault on bank 1. It could be the solenoid or the wiring. My money would be on the solenoid, as it is a reasonably common problem. You often get a really rough idle when it happens, but if it is intermittent then that might explain why you don't notice a difference in performance. There are a few checks you can make with a multimeter, so if you plan to DIY then drop me a PM with your email address and I'll send you the diagnostic sheet.

I’m talking with Marc Clowes at 9M about a few things so im going to do some preventative work and change all 4 solenoids on both banks plus some other work like the AOS as it maybe failing.
