I have recently bought a 2014 981 Boxster, with more night driving involved at the present time I am finding the lighting less than ideal, I understand there are better lights that would have been available if specified at the time the car was ordered. My query as a new ( used car owner ) are there any upgrade paths available to improve the headlight brightness without falling foul of the Porsche Approved Car warranty ? My car knowledge is limited to fluid and tyre checks so please could I ask for any suggestions to be made in very simple terms. thanks

You can try upgraded headlight bulbs there are a few makes on the market to choose from
Couple of examples are Phillips Extreme or Osram Nightbreakers.

OPC Glasgow inspected my car a fortnight ago and flagged up Non Porsche Bulbs (along with Non Porsche Wiper Blades, Stereo, Battery and Exhaust Clamps)

I don’t have extended warranty in place but I hear they are sticklers for keeping the cars 100% genuine so you might want to bear this in mind

Short answer is No
pdls are brilliant literally
I wouldn’t buy one without
I have in the past and upgraded with bi xenons from what was camtune porsche brooklands and pct/autobahn in coventry
expensive but very good but would definitely fall foul of OPC warranty

I can sympathise. I had a 981 with standard lights as a loan car once. I thought that the light were the worst lights I’d encountered in any car for a long time (and I’ve driven a lot of basic hire cars). Quite how Porsche could fit a performance car with such poor headlights astonishes me, on an unlit road you are now in the slowest car on the road.
i do hope that you can find a solution, please share if you get anywhere.

hello I have a boxter 986 and recently have had some quite bad condensation in the rear lamps and front and rear screen any ideas would be much appreciated my first time on thanks
