Steering Wheel Wobble

[blockquote]Had a little steering wheel wobble on the lobster claw 19" wheels. Put some new Team Dynamics 18" with new tyres on and the wobble is still there.
Got a little worse over this last couple of weeks so went back and got the front wheels/tyres balance/checked. 35grms out on one, 10grms the other!
Put them back on and the wobble is worse and happens 10mph lower now.
Even at about 30mph on straight smooth road without touching the steering wheel, it is noticeable that the steering wheel wobbles slightly although it can't be felt.
At 64mph there is a light vibration through the car and the steering wheel wobbles about 1/4".
I've checked the wheel runout (warp) and one is 1mm the other 0.25mm. The discs are not warped, the wheel bearings are good.
Replaced the lower control arms both sides on front about 8,000 miles ago.
When one wheel is jacked off the floor and the wheel/tyre is pulled/pushed at 9 and 3 o'clock I can't feel any slack or knocks on the front steering/suspension, only movement of the steering wheel can be seen.
Should this happen if the other front wheel is on the deck? Worn rack?

Assuming the tyers are seated properly and not miss-shaped, Get the tracking / track rods looked at.
 
Might be worth a try taking them off. Spacers can cause these problems if not seated perfectly and I've seen the hubcentric ones crack before now. At least that way if it's still the same you can rule them out.
 
Check track rod inner ball joints, can sometimes manifest as a light tapping felt through the steering wheel at low speeds.
 
Agree with taking them off to check at least it something you can rule out

Tracking and balance

Check the Coffin Arms if they where non OE then can wear quickly !!

Have you checked that the tyres are not miss-shapen as MKS alludes to.
I don‘t Know why but miss-shapen tyres seems at least in my experience to be a phenomenon of the last 10 years or so. They can make themselves known in several ways. Twice I was sure a wheel bearing was failing and on another occasion that a shock absorber was defective. My miss-shapen tyres have been on the rear of a Focus, a Mondeo and a VW Passat CC. They’ve not been because the cars had been parked for long periods nor due to under or over inflation. The tyres were Michelin Pilot and Continental.
Its fairly easy to check, if you raise the car and feel the tyres with the palm of a hand as one spins the wheel.
 
Sorted! Back to minimal/no wobble by first trying the original wheels....loads better.
Then the new wheels back on swapped over...massive difference! Don't ask how. All I can think is the wheels weren't seated properly. The fronts do have spacers too.
I'm getting 4 wheel alignment done Friday. I just wanted to make sure there was nothing obviously worn that would waste the alignment.
The car's been 4 wheel aligned 2 years ago and 7 years ago!
