I know on the 987 there is a pipe inside the car that comes off and cause water inside the front passenger car from the air con

What causes this on a 986. There is no water by the battery
Where are the drain holes at the rear
about 3 pints of water was in the passenger rear footwell.
THe front of the passenger is dry
and so are both Drivers side wells

And what is the unit that is here (I think it is the ECU)
THere is a spare wire by this unit that is not attached

SORTED Found the drain hole under the Rear of the roof - totally blocked Water cleared hopefully Control Unit is not shot Thanks

Roof drains blocked - put the roof in maintenance position, and have a look either side.

Suggest a google search for boxster roof drains - there’s plenty of pictures and instructions.

The ECU is the alarm/immobiliser ECU - they often die if they get wet - you need to resolve this.

—edit— oops - sorry just saw the follow ups - didn’t show up when I first read and subsequently replied.

Worth clearing out from the bottom up too, I had a problem that was there for months until I got the strimmer cable up from the exit tube.
