So long story short, i bought an new key case on ebay...all good got the key blade out of the old key and the electrics, but didnt think to check the key actually starts the car!!

D'OH....turns out the old case had the immobiliser chip embedded...yeah and before anyone says...I chucked the old bust case in the bin weeks ago!

Anyone know how much Porsche are going to reem me out for a new key and reprogram?

I have a working key and the 2nd one all the elecs work as does the key blade...its just the immob chip i need sorting.

The last price I had in the UK was £127.22 +VAT for the head and £45 +VAT for programming in April 18! Should not have changed that much. Just had one done here in WA for AU$491.37 (£290+) Ouch! Porsche parts/Labour here about twice the price of UK but get parts sent in from UK anyway delivered here in 5 days by DHL.[8D]

120 + VAT 10% discount for POC Members

I think that you can programme the key yourself (This certainly works to re programme existing key)

Insert new key in ignition
Turn it to 1st position
Press and hold Main Button

Everything starts flashing and job done

Unfortunately I have a feeling that a new key has to be paired with the car by a Dealership.

I think what you're describing Richard is just a re-synchronising operation.

Probably right Jeff
A local member had a ingress of water. (986 late)
M534 Unit (Central Locking) unit destroyed
Needs new keys (He needed those anyway) and a new M534 unit quoted £890 at Porsche Wolverhampton being done next week (1200 at Porsche Chester!!!!)
Very late car so no "Sets" available on ebay and anyway the "set" holds the donor car information.
"Set Must exactly match the car or it will not work
