Parrot or replacement head unit?

Hi. Has anyone in the R3 region, replaced the stereo head unit in a 987.1 or had a Parrot system fitted? If so what are your experiences/recommendations. Who carried out the work. Thanks.

Was going to replace my standard Radio with a Full Sat nav system

The Unit on a 997 (both) is a strange shape and a fitting kit is available on ebay for around 30 quid
Easy to remove old system
1 bolt hold the each of the small carpet flaps at the front of the car
2 Bolts hidden in the carpet the front one
THis then can be pulled off towards the driver
Two more atches to release the radio
AND a little 5 or 6mm bolt secures the radio
About 20mins work when you know how!!

The radio then pulls out and unclips 3 - 5 plugs

You will need to run an SWITCHED Power lead from the Fuse BOs (Again you can get these on line (Mine runs Sat Nav and Two Cameras)
THis allows the new Unit to turn off when the Car is OFF

Then just fit the Unit you want

I was going to fit a 300.00 JAPANESE unit but this means trimming the new plastic surround.
I also found that by the time I had bought FRont Camera, Rear Reversing camera, ECU Mapper, TYre Pressure monitor it was not so CHEAP

But yes its a reasonably easy job

Big difference if the car has Bose or not. Mine does and it is not an easy job. Still eminently do-able but it was FAR more complicated than I first thought. My car had a CD stacker in the front and it was connected to the head unit and the amp with a fibre optic loop.

I fitted a Pioneer SPH DA 120 double head unit.

To fit it though I had to change the amplifier and make a custom wiring loom (as I didn't want to cut any cables)
