997 Turbo (PCCB) Space Saver spare wheel question?

Hi Everyone

I am having no luck at all at sourcing a used or new space saver for my car. I’ve been in touch with various OPC’s who tell me that there are no such wheels in stock in the UK or Germany. They are happy enough to take the nearly £500 from me and place one on order but admit it could be many, many months or even years before I receive it!
I have purchased a good tyre repair kit & have a number of aerosols of instant tyre repair gunk and of course breakdown cover with Porsche & Locktons but a spare wheel would make me feel more at peace, especially when abroad.
Can anyone help with suggestions please? I’ve spent a considerable amount of time looking on the web & eBay etc. but to no avail....
Does anyone know if the 996 Turbo 17” space saver that become available on eBay from time to time, fits with PCCB please?
Thank you!

My advice would be to rethink this. Even if you can find a space saver and somewhere to carry it in your car, you also need a jack and wheel brace. Then, if you do manage to get the wheel off, where will you store it? If you're on tour with passenger and luggage, you're going to find it very difficult to take it in the car, so do you abandon it beside the road or maybe your passenger instead?[:D]
By far your best bet is to take a Silverline tyre repair kit, a tube of Superglue, your phone for Porsche Assistance and trust to luck. Don't cut corners since this increases your chance of punctures and forget the mousse - it's a waste of effort and is the very devil to clean up once it's been deployed.
Regards,

Clive

Okay thank you Clive & tscaptain.
I have thought about the various conundrums surrounding this issue; however if anyone can confirm if the 17” 996 Turbo wheel fits as a possible option, perhaps they can let me know....
Appreciated!
