With the wheels coming on and off a lot I'm getting really sick of the OEM wheel bolts and want to move to studs - the bolts are getting a bit old so need replacing anyway so it seems like a good time.

Can anyone recommend a good kit? The rennline competition kit looks decent...

I converted the Boxster Race car and got a kit from Design911. I think it is the Rennline kit they sell in any case. Much better now.

I'm familiar with the removal tools but it's still a lot slower than using nuts as it's one more thing to spin into the hub and then remove.

Also quite a bit cheaper to replace nuts once they look a little worn, rather than replacing the whole bolt. It also annoys me that it's relatively easy to scuff the finish on the allow wheel when inserting bolts (especially when it's a garage doing the work). You don't get this problem with lug nuts.

If you are talking metric studs you can purchase these from most nut & bolt fastener companies. Obviously you will require the correct tensile strength if the studs are too long cut them down. A dab of locking fluid to help retain the bolt.

Or isn't it as easy as this?
