Durham Auto Club will be running the 3rd "Classics at the Castle" Classic Car Show again this year at Witton Castle and are supporting the Great North Air Ambulance Charity.

Last years event was fantastic with over 250 cars on display and this year they say things are going to be even better! There are classes for cars from pre-1950 up to Modern and with classes for motorbikes, tractors and other specialist vehicles there should be something for everyone.

Some of you may remember I mentioned this a while back at one of our monthly meetings, unfortunately there wasn't much interest to show as a Club and as it's a Witton Castle and the weather forecast looks great I wondered if anyone fancied going for a few hours on Sunday.

Since it doesn't start until 11.00am plenty of time for a spot of breakfast at Lanchester Garden Centre first, we could meet from opening around 10.00 have a bite to eat then take the 15 mile drive up together at around 10.45am. You could even take a picnic and just meet us there if you prefer.

As we are not displaying as a club anyone who wants to, can simply take their daily driver if prefered. Entry is free for visitors and as we are not showing you are free to leave whenever you wish so you could even be back home with plenty of time for the world cup final.

Me and Michelle along with Tony and Christine will meet you all at Lanchester for Breakfast. Apologies as we couldn’t make Wednesday meeting.

They say the most important meal of the day is breakfast, start with some great friends add a few Porsche cars in to the mix, lots of sunshine and serve it up to all and you have a superb recipe to start your day.

This show although not the biggest had a very interesting mix of vehicles from tractors to motorcycles and everything in between.

Sorry if we missed anyone who arrived later in the day a drive home via some exciting roads through Stanhope & Weardale was beckoning, you know what they say, these cars are for driving, especially on a lovely sunny day like today.
