Updating PCM 2.1 to latest firmware and newest DVD Nav maps

Hi All,

Please forgive a newbee if this has already been discussed, I have just bought my first Porsche a 2004 MY 2005 987 Boxster. I wanted to update the firmware on the system to the latest version and also get hold of the newest Nav disk. I have the Bose system in my car and have read many stories of the updates bricking the Bose Amp. Does anyone have the definitive list of software/hardware versions and the upgrade paths from each one please? I don't have the current versions to hand but will update the post as soon as I can get to the car as it is stored at my parents house! I do have the chassis no though if that is of any use to anyone?

I did see this post, which seems to answer most of my questions, but it dates from 2012, is there a newer DVD nav disk, and if so is there a part no?

Kind regards,

Richard

The latest map disk is 08.2015. If you need more details drop me a PM with your email address, and the software versions shown on your system. Unfortunately, you can't be sure from the VIN alone. If you should be one of the unlucky ones with an affected amp, I have made a special update disk to bypass the amp update.

Hi Richard,

That is fantastic, I really appreciate your offer. I will check the versions at the weekend and if the amp is the affected version may very well take you up on your kind offer.

Kind regards,

Richard
