When I was looking at selling my car originally i hadn't had the belts done which have now been done. It needs a bit of work mainly to the interior. Has just gone through the mot last week and is taxed for a year. The ebay advert is as follows and will go on on thursday nite. Would be grateful if anyone can give me a sensible idea of price to be asking?
Well after approximately 10 months of ownership I now find a change of circumstances meaning having to sell my 944. It is a 1986 D Reg 944 Lux in Alpine White. There is quite a lot of paperwork including some receipts and service history. It is showing just over 52,500 miles on the clock, although there was a documented clock change at 51,000 meaning it's actually covered just over 103,500 miles in total. The car is currently taxed until January 2010 and is mot'd until February 2010. I have had the just had the car mot'd which although originally failing, it has now passed needing just a front brake flexi pipe and a couple of split pins. The were several advisories which will be provided along with the mot. These are not particularly major things which can be sorted over the coming year such as the other brake flexi which is a bit perished (£17 and odd pence from eurocarparts) and the backbox is rusty etc etc. If you want to know more info then don't hesitate to ask.
In the time I have owned this car, I have spent £800+ which covers most importantly the cam belt and balance belts which were replaced just a couple of months ago. I sourced a set of replacement alloy wheels as the ones fitted when I bought the car were the wrong offset. Also various interior parts such as all 3 electric window switches and various trim pieces but one of my main jobs was replacing the roof lining which had been knifed by a supposed professional in order to remedy a leaky sunroof before I bought the car. I have also had a pair of rear tyres put on before the mot as they were about shot, and since the mot the clutch slave cylinder has been replaced.Mechanically there is very little wrong with the car although the handbrake could do with some adjustment. I did a mini service when I first bought it as it had been sat for a fair while which included oil filter and oil, air filter and alternator and power steering belts. I have replaced the front brake pads and disks so they are in excellent condition and I have also had the steering shaft replaced. The only other thing I am aware of is a slight water leak on the radiator but I believe that is just a connection and doesn't leak that much, just enough to be annoying. The car has never run out of water or overheated.
Bodywork wise there aren't many bad bits really, a rust bubble on the passenger side sill and ideally the badge panel and drivers side wing could do with painting which I have been quoted £100 to do. Interior wise the drivers seat has been repaired at some time so has a patch which is getting to the stage that it could do with being replaced, or the whole seat which would probably be cheaper and the rear seat base has worn at the back and could probably do with being replaced. I have added pictures of both of the damaged areas and both of these parts I have seen on ebay fairly regularly, for not massive prices. The car is perfectly useable as it is without any of the cosmetic bits being done.
As far as I know the electrics all work ok, as I said earlier I replaced the electric window switches as they all died. The electric sunroof works perfectly and it is very nice when it is removed (the hard to find sunroof bag is still in the boot). Headlights and fog lights all work perfectly, fan operates on all speeds and electric drivers seat also works. There has also been an induction kit fitted but the original air filter will be included.
Please bear in mind that this car is 22 years old, so it has had paintwork at various times in it's life and is by no means in mint condition. It is however perfectly useable and with a bit of tlc isn't all that far away from being a very nice car indeed.
Insurance is very reasonable as it can be done on a classic insurance policy. I only just renewed mine and it cost me £180 fully comp with a 5000 mile limit. Tax is just over £100 for 6 months.
Parts are surprisingly easy to get hold of with the likes of eurocarparts and many specialists around, in actual fact the brake parts didn't cost me much more that they would for a more common everyday car.
Fuel consumption isn't too bad at all, depending how you drive!!! On a 260 mile run to colchester a couple of months ago I achieved 37mpg sat at 70 most of the way and I can still get around 25mpg around town. Anyone who knows anything about these cars will know that it is all about the driving experience which is definitely fun on back roads in the dry. It really sticks to the road like glue due to the 255 tyres on the rear and it can keep up with a lot more expensive and newer cars around the bends!
I have tried to be as honest as possible with my description but if there is anything anyone needs to know then do not hesitate to email me or give me a ring on 07842 530024 and I will try to answer if I can.

If the car reaches the reserve then it will come as described but if not I may let it go without the tax.
