The spec. on paper reads really well - to me 'the amateur 964RS fan' at least.
If he paid low 20's for a rust free base, and then bought new Porsche and aftermarket parts then he will have close to that money in the car with paint etc. ?
Good news is that gives me £20K to get my car to their if I wanted, or a lot less if I keep all the heavy but very driver friendly bits like extra wiring and interior.....still think that looks nice though.

Hello all, hello Hugh,
The build has been a lot of fun and Im still not sure if its the right decision however I have an itch to race and decided this week that after 3 years of talking about it I am now going to do something.
I will certainly miss the car and cannot say for sure that I wont regret it but I can always build something similar.
Cheers

Good luck with the sale Lee, it does seem good value and should not hang around too long.

I think I'd race the car now you've got it built. It's not far off race spec as it is and it'll be competitive, but you'll have to not mind the possibility of bending it[&:]
Although its not built to regs, so it would have to run in something very open like future classics or AMOC, where it may not be competitive, or the racing may not be competitive depends what you want to do.
Plus, Lee's car is finished to very nice standard as a trackday car, and maybe it would hurt to treat it as a race car?
Also, if he can get that money for it, he could sell this one and buy thegooses 964 for a packet less - is that still for sale?

Lee,
I can certainly understand the need to race. Are you planning to race Porsches, or something else? Hope the car finds a good home. I was talking to Ollie at RPM earlier this week, he was raving about Bedford, and how good the car felt. Good luck with the sale.
Thank you Hugh, I am planning to race a Boxster S

I would be worried about bending it for sure.

Thanks Carreraboy!
Ah! Makes sense. I had a little go in the RPM one at Oulton Park, nice little car, very accessible, and I think it will make for tight racing. I think the RPM rental idea is great, I was even tempted to dip my hand in, as I could imagine the racing being a lot of fun.
As you say stakes are lower than racing a 911.

I`m after a nice 964 but this is way of out my league. Looks a cracking car although it seem a high price for a car with what must have well over 100k miles on the clock, given the engine was rebuilt in 2003 at 93k miles. I would have thought a genuine RS with 100K + miles wouldn`t be far off that price.
I keep on seeing the guys on pistonheads going on and on about miles and how the low ones command a premium etc etc but this car isn`t exactly cheap. What are the views on here about miles? I don't want to start a debate but are are miles not really that important?
