XPEL Ultimate for GT4

Thinking about Protecting my GT4 when it arrives in February and going 1 of 3 ways:
1) Get the SMART repair insurance off OPC
2) Getting Gtechnik Ceramic coat Applied
3) XPEL Ultimate for some or all of car ...
What are your thoughts and experience on this subject ...?
It seams like loads of GT4 owners are going XPEL but is this "over protecting" - I am a keen detailer and keep my cars Mint, is XPEL for the guys who don't want the hassle of waxing etc ...?!!!

I have Xpel on my Cayman GTS and I have friends that also have Xpel installed on their cars. I have only heard excellent reports and my experience is also excellent. It does have to be maintained though. Here in the U.S. Xpel recommends Griot's Speed Shine, which I use. All Griot's products are recommended for Xpel. Of course, Xpel also sells some products of their own. I don't track the car so I can't speak to that issue. I also attempt to keep the car in "mint" condition, but driving on road trips and rally often results in chips but Xpel protects the paint from damage. It does have a 10-year warranty and can be removed (but should be done by the tec people who installed it).

no it's for the people who don't want massive stone chips or road rash sills.

has nothing to do with the looks as I hate film. but the GT4 has massive sills, wide CUP2 tyres which are sticky and no protection at all on the sills, the car will road rash very bad on the sills.

NO amount of wax or ceramic coat will do anything to stop that.

 
I agree that the sill areas can take a real peppering on most GT Porsches, so if you want to keep your car mint, I'd also recommend the film for sure, although even the film over time will end up looking a bit worse for wear, but the actual paint will be protected.

I'm also considering fitting these, I don't think they'll really look that out of place TBH, and will surely help protect the sills quite a bit with or without the film.

Thanks Mr D ... Xpel it is then! What areas would you recommend as a "Must" ..? and how much should i expect to pay ...?? Andrew

 
i am a gtechniq fan after seeing the results on other car's i was sold it will not protect like a film application i would guess but i hope i dont find out :)
