Wortec exhaust

Is anyone here running the Wortec switchable exhaust on their 944?

I'd like to know your thoughts on the exhaust if anyone has one.

I have a Wortec exhaust as does Jon Trassler.
I don't have the switchable bit - couldn't justfiy the 500 or so. Mine is set to quiet but it makes a nice noise and certainly is louder outside than inside.

It fits well and gives good ground clearance but is a bit of shock when you look underneath as a 3" pipe is surprisingly large! Tailpipe is oval so is reasonably discreet - no mortar launchers.

I have nothing to compare it performance wise with so can't be much help here.

Was there anything in particular you wanted to know? I believe I had the last new one Promax had so another option is the Fabspeed one from the US.

Much the same as David - It is very well made and sounds good on either setting. The "loud" setting is good fun if you like that sort of thing !

Tailpipe is discrete for such a large diameter system. Can't offer any technical feedback either I am afraid - its isn't the cheapest but it is a very good system and well made.

Thanks folks.

I met someone recently who spoke highly of the Wortec exhaust, hence the question. I know some exhausts can end up with a intrusive, 'boomy' sound which isn't ideal. Doesn't sound like the Wortec exhaust has that characteristic.

I guess the performance gains would be negligible?

Apart from JMG, does anyone know any approved Fabspeed stockists?

Certainly not boomy or intrusive on either setting in my experience. Performance gains will depend as to what other mods you have on your car but the much better flow will help and on more highly modded cars are far more integral to those gains. Sorry can't help with the Fabspeed stockists.

You'll need to import Fabspeed direct although I gather its quite straightforward. MarkK is your man, he's had lots!
Speak to Promax about power increases. I'd have thought it would make some difference whatever your setup.
