Wiper Linkage

Hello all. Have posted this on TIPEC but will stick it here too.

Probably done to death but what is the bodge and what is the proper fix for drivers side wiper ball joint seperating. I pushed it back in and it fell out again! I have an elastic band on it just now but was thinking of upgrading to a hair bobble tonight as much stiffer elastic lol!

I drove home 10 miles last night in the rain with only my passenger wiper, lots of fun! The wiper ended up nearly wrapped onto the drivers door window after a bit of 3rd gear boost action! []

Driver's side part is only about a tenner, or at least it was the last time I had to replace mine about 5 years ago.

Used my shoe lace, and it worked so well I left it like it 4 2 years. Can be drilled out nilone nut and bolt and some plastic washers.

Rich's post, number 15 on Keith's link, is the one I needed for the driver's side. I didn't do it myself, it was fixed during a service. I've seen it done by an indie and it was a two-minute job. I guess the "ball" part on mine was ok, as it was fine afterwards.

Magic guys, cheers for replies. I have ordered up the linkage arm from OPC Glasgow. £7.21 and they should have it for 9am tomorrow. Good service indeed! Stuart
