Wing recycle?

Hi all, I've been getting the crusty bits on my S2 sorted out, and decided to just fit brand new steel front wings. (The logic here is questionable I guess, I want the car to be as perfect as I can get it, so I wanted the wings to come off so that the inner wings etc. could be checked and resealed, so I just decided to pay for brand new ones to go back on rather than pay for someone's time welding and shaping the old ones) The job is still in progress. The removed wings are straight, but of course have tinworm in the bottom few inches behind the front wheels - more accurately, bits of the bottom few inches are no longer present! Reading the forums leads me to believe that they would be repairable, so rather than scrap them do you guys think they'd be worth offering for sale? Is there a market for them? and if so what would be a sensible price to ask? I'll try to add a representative picture.... OK, tried that, didn't work, but this link should work.. https://www.dropbox.com/s/eg71zu44jm5vx6c/R_Wing%20med.JPG

Thanks for the prompt reply Simon, I guessed that would be the case... Oh, for a perfect bottom!

Your bottom is in a better state than the one I'm currently repairing. If you were just down the road from me I would consider buying them from you...

Steve, I am in the same boat as you and thinking of new steel wings or repairing mine. If you don't mind my asking how much are new ones?

Hi Jim, are you sitting down?..... The book price from the OPC was £710 each incl. VAT, but the parts guy managed to get me 12% off, so I paid £625 each.

At £625 per wing for replacements, I'm sure it would be worth saving the ones you had. I'd imagine it wouldn't be too much work for a good fabricator.

Steve, I was afraid you would say something like that. At least you got a reasonable discount.

Looks like I may need to find a good panel beater/fabricator. Can anyone recommend anyone in the North west.
