OK... getting all anoraky about this now... I have seen normal plain plastic tube, and the reinforced stuff on various 944s, what was originally used in 1986, anyone any idea? Any idea why one would be used in preference to the other? Is it anything to do with those fitted with windscreen washer jet heaters?

My 68 has the corded stuff looking rather sad actually would not mind replacing it all for new, it has heated washers

Both our 924S's -86 & 87 have braided washer tubes with those pesky crimped clips-replaced passenger pipe this week to try to get the nozzle to work using clear pipe from local motor factor & found that it kinked when twisting it round to tuck it under the inner bonnet skin.Eventually got a S/H nozzle from James at Only 9 & asked for the existing pipe as well-result -it all works & the old pipe coils without kinking,so clearly Porsche knew what it needed.
Didn't bother with clips ,mind.
