I'm doing a light restoration on a 1988 911 Carrera G Body it's been standing for 5 years.
I've got an issue with the screen wash. I've just had the reservoir all out cleaned and proved the motors, i had to change the main wash motor as it was ceased.
Wipers all work,
Headlamp washers all work.
Intensive washers don't work from the switch ?

When i operate the wash from the wiper switch.
1/ No power to the main wash pump. I have checked the switch and cleaned the contacts all ok there with 12v. (wipers all work fine)
2/ When i operate the wash from the wiper stork the intensive wash motor operates and works (driver side only) which makes no sense.

I must be missing something has anyone had a similar issue, I'm very competent mechanically and electrically but this one has me scratching my head.

Many thanks for any help or advise John G

The intensive wash works from a rocker switch under Gauge two and it is spring loaded .
IT also runes the wipers for a bit. check the relay.
Check the one way valves in the jet tubing. It sounds like something is wired up wrong.
Diagram may help.

Give me a ring if you need to .
Charles.

Ok i think i've worked out what someone has done, I've metered out the Plug under the dash all fine, so then metered out the cable from the plug socket under the dash to the pump this is diss.
Time to start and trace some wires, I found the intensive wash feed has been cut and another wire attached disappearing up and behind the blower assembly, so my guess is someone has dissed the old pump feed and connected it to the intensive wash pump bypassing the original system probably because the main pump was ceased.

I'm guessing now but logically where would you go to easily identify and cut / connect the intensive washer to the yellow feed of the main pump somewhere behind the dash.

All they had to do was extend the main pump cable up the the intensive wash bottle.

I really dont want to take the blower assembly out as I've only just put it all back in after changing all the hoses ect.

I'll let you know how i get on John G
