Windscreen replacement - 992.2 Carrera T.

Hi. After just over 10,000 miles, my 2025 Carrera T windscreen was hit by a stone and has cracked, necessitating a replacement (my first ever in 37 years of driving).

I submitted an (automated) claim on Saturday and have paid the £115 excess. I’m with Admiral and they use AutoGlass for windscreens/glass etc. I booked with local AutoGlass centre (Swindon) for 3rd November. I then received an email saying that the glass is currently out of stock and that they have placed an order for me.

I note in the policy document that they may use glass that is not provided by the vehicle’s manufacturer, but is of a similar standard and quality.

Any observations and/or experience of windscreen replacements via Admiral/AutoGlass?

One of the joys of opting for a cheaper insurance policy. 🤔
Personally I'd take the hit and would still plump for an OEM replacement - it's an expensive Porsche 911 sportscar after all!

I may contact the OPC out of curiosity, regarding availability of the windscreen and the total cost of replacement. (I don’t yet know if AutoGlass would use OE glass.)
 
You might be able to argue that replacement by non OEM glass will invalidate the warranty? However this might only apply with the extended warranty, which you could be putting at risk, when the time comes.
 
Phone admiral and tell them anything other than OEM glass will invalidate the warranty. They may well put you through to AutoGlass to discuss it. Just explain about warranty.

Hi Dan,

Am waiting for OPC to reply to my email. Once they get back to me, I’ll ask about warranty implications, if any, on both new car warranty & extended warranty.
