Windscreen aerial reception...

.... In a nutshell, it ain't good! However, things improve a great deal when the car is under cover like a garage or port, the wipers sweep up the screen and if the engine is off.
Any bright ideas as to how to improve please guys? The wiring and booster seems ok... I just wonder if it's the screen aerial that's had it after 22 years.

Check to see if the amplifier wire is connected to a power supply, its the thin black wire attached to the aerial itself.

Hi,

I fitted direct earth cables from the head unit to the body shell and cleaned the connections to the aerial amp. The earth fr the aerial amp is actually onto what looks like a small pad of gold leaf somehow attached the the body shell.

The head amp is under the dash near to the hatch release on my 86 turbo.

After completing the above the reception was better, it was worth the effort.
