window switch replacement

Hi all,

one of my window switches has gone loco, will replace. Is it a simple matter of easing the old one out as mine seem pretty well jammed in there? Screwdriver underneath and carefully ease or is there another way??

Thanks as usual for advice!

Mark

Mark,

That is how I removed mine. I then removed another switch from the other side which I knew worked to ckeck it was a faulty switch.

Hi Mark, spot on. Just be very gentle and ease out. The door card does have a metal surround which the switch clips into. One of mine actually came apart (the switch) with the spirited levering, but it then clicked back togther with a lot of juggling and lining up of the cables and pins and has worked well ever since so not the end of the world if the levering is over the top. The other just popped out.

When the switch is out make sure the cable and connectoir doesn't drop back inside the door or you will have to take the card, inner membrane etc off to recover it.

Thanks guys - I was pretty sure that was the method but the old nerves get frayed when I meet resistance using a screwdriver!!

Cheers,

Mark
