Okay, seems like the only way to fit the new drop link from the door handle is to remove the window guide, anyone done this, i need access to the rear of the lock assembly.
Cheers Jim.

Nope but I need to know this as well as I have 968 handles to go when I fit the new wing mirrors.

LOL [:D] I don't even know where the clutch is, but removing the rear window guide is easy just two screws, one at the top under the seal and one at the bottom, If I remember right get the handle assembled attach the links but leave the screw in the side of door out until you have the guide back in.

or am I missing something?[&:]

No you could be right Kingsdoken, it has a plate assembly which stops you getting at the parts you need to be at, this will have been fitted after the lock assembly at the factory, the usual guides point at doing it from the gap left when the door lock is part removed from the door, not easy and near enough gauranteed to mark the door paint ending in a door paint, sounds simple on Clarks Garage guide or is it just me that's simple ? [:)]

yes I tried it the clarkes way but could not do it the plate is a security sheild to theives pulling the links and opening the door......
take the door card off and it's easy

Have you not removed the door card? Id imagine that it is extremely difficult unless you do. With the door card off youll be able to squeeze the nylon link on, without a great deal of difficulty.

Tut tut Frenchy! Door card off, link done, card back on, 15 mins tops!! Zero spanner job in terms of Haynes difficultability!

Scam, i had to strip the rear window guide out (Good tip Kingsdoken) and even then could not push the ball and socket together, ended up using some lube (O er misses) and a pair of water pump pliers to squeeze together and it finally went (No spanners my arris) was yours a new one ?
Took a look at the drivers side window motor taht packed in took it apart and nothin obvious, put it back together and tried it and it was now working ? great !
cleaned up the window mechanism and lubed it, fitted and woking like a Bentleys, door card back on along with new window switch and housing, a large dose of cavity wax was applied before the door card went back on [;)]
