Which iPhone mount actually works?

I bought a windscreen mount to hold my iPhone but it didn't work very well. Everything I read about the product suggested it was solid and there would be little vibration etc. Unfortunately I couldn't really test this as the windscreen mount never stuck to the windscreen.

I'm not sure if I received a faulty product or if it has anything to do with the shape of the windscreen.

Anyway, can anyone here recommend a mount that works well with the 944 windscreen?

I've got the suction-type for both my Nokia N8 (now a music player with it's built-in FM transmitter, great for the car) and the S3. Both were the cheap under a tenner type.

I've found you need to get the screen really clean (I got an alcohol swab with mine) and warm. Even then they tend to fall off occasionally and land in your lap. I set mine with the weight resting on the top of the dash, the seems to work better but takes some fiddling to get it right. Fine if it's going to stay there for good, but we are told not to leave the holders in the car! []

I dont like windscreen mounts, I make up fixed mounts for my vehicles.
Get a mount which fits the phone well, which has a stiff slightly flexible stalk (these are usually soft metal) ffind a suitable vent with screw behind, cut, bend, flatten and drill the stalk and have a solid fixed mount.
I also have a full hands free bluetooth kit installed, with aerial and mic. The aerial is great, gives better reception than even standing outside the car

I bought one of these - http://www.amazon.co.uk/Cut-Price-Accessories-iPhone-4g/dp/B0096P1RFC/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1355567450&sr=8-1

It's VVVVV cheap (wasn't too bothered as doesn't get much use) but it's actually quite sturdy, fits on main air vent and actually is very good. I find it sits on the vent without rattling about. For the money, I think it's worth a try.

I did consider one of these - http://www.amazon.com/Clingo-Universal-Hands-Free-iPhone-Devices/dp/B003JTHMSM

Looks great but seen a few people have had issue with the sticky stuff sticking to the back of their phone so didn't chance it.

I've just purchased one of the below for my iPhone 5 as my friend has exactly the same model for his iPhone 4 & it even allows you to video footage of road blasts or track days "if they allow" as the holder frees up the camera lens !!! [;)]

I just use a small piece of anti-slip mat and place it in the centre console, same with the sat-nav
