Just in case you are snowed in, or housebound, or just up for a bit of light entertainment ... my Sky Box thingy is telling me that the subject of the dynamic duo's attention this Tuesday (tomorrow) is the 944 Turbo. Discovery Real Time 9.00-9.30pm (Part 1) and 9.30-10.00pm (Part 2). It's no doubt a repeat - so apologies if you've all seen it before (I've not seen it ... BTW do we know who's car was the pristine example thrashed by Mike Brewer?).

Yes a repeat, the car in question has subsequently been up for sale at least twice since the original airing of the programme. Not one of their greatest "transformations" imho but always good to see the 944 featured on the Box.

I have only seen brief clips on you tube etc but never the program. I did follow the cars sale attempts on Piston Heads & E-Bay though I was in the market at the time, I was never tempted to buy it
Are there two whole 30 minute episodes on this car ? or is it jst a feature within a program if you see what I mean. The reason I ask is that I dont have the 'discovery pack' but for an hour re 944 , I would just add it
Regards Mas

I've not seen it yet either. It was all supposed to be arranged through me, I pointed them in the direction of some suitable cars, what they could do to them, and we were going to do a package with a free year's membership to the buyer of the finished car. Sadly they were a little, how can I put this nicely, useless. Once they'd remembered to get back to me they's bought the car and filmed it. Shame, as it could have been good for the 944 community to have us involved.

I knew there was a reason I didnt have that channel , it's only in the style and culture pack isnt it. I don't do ballet or food programs
Now I know why I have avoid Sky for years. They put Eurosport ( Ski-ing) in the News pack and car programs in the Syle and Culture so basically you need to buy all the packs with loads of rubbish you'd never want.
Best I go and add the pack since it costs peanuts lol

Yep, it's two whole 30 min episodes.
You can find 'em online if you don't want to add the Discovery Pack.

IIRC the car they chose didn't really need that much doing to it, hence the move to make it into a track car though the changes were certainly half ar*ed. Pity as when they did a 924 and a 928 they made pretty decent jobs of them. The 928 has also been up for sale a couple of times.

thus totally devaluing it and reduced their sales market
Unfortunately I seem to remember being amazed seeing it on Pistonheads through a dealer circa £7k IIRC [8|]
Look out for when Mike's looking at the ad for the damaged Lux and says ...."and it looks like a turbo"
BTW my car's the red S.2 at the beginning

O.K I just watched the programs & heres my take , lets debate [
]
I know folk have slagged them 'ruining' the car by turning it in to a track car but I think a 944 was born to track so to speek so I have no problem with them having dome that at all. Gaz shocks surely a sensible enhancement ? , cage seems O.K to me ? , remap seems very good indeed , very suprised the car showed 236bhp before the remap and its an 97 with a K&N fiilter on ?
However the Orange wheels , er no not for me made me feel sick. And why cant you track with cup ones on they are superb wheels arent they ?
As for the ' right ' decision financially. They got that car so cheep they would have made a thousand by selling it as was and saved all the hours of 'free' labour that they havn't included in their budget. Just like buying a house sometimes sell the bargain on and let someone else do the work you make just as much cash.
I totally enjoyed my fix of 944 telly anyway ( is that sad) so thanks to the original poster and I'm now tempted to brave the snow still piled outside my garage and go to a certain car meet later for a further fix [

Edd I like but Mr Brewer gets on my wick, I'm afraid - still enjoyable enough for the 944 fix alone!
Hmm, I am aiming to get the beetle out for a run to a local meet next week, gritters permitting![8|]
Btw Robert (OP), hope you're still enjoying 'my' car?
