Whats your Ultimate 3 car Garage?

The Rules: You can only have 3 cars. Money is no object, and your partner owns the family estate (an AMG E55 Merc, New Overfinch Range Rover or Audi RS6) - therefore practicality is not an issue.

you need to use one of your 3 cars to commute to work in (10 miles a day, medium traffic density, no motorway).

My garage as follows (subject to change):

1994ish Bentley Continental R
1929 6 litre Bentley (think I've got the year right)
1995 993 Cup Car

Matt,
Interesting idea but you've posted this on the 964RS forum & don't seem to have one in your list - with only a ten mile commute as well.
Are you posting to the right form?

:ROFLMAO: Tony

Mixed up my postings, this one meant for the Bentley Drivers Club [;)]

I started off with my 964RS in there, however the 993 Cup Car superceded it []

Not the ultimate, but the fleet includes the 964 Cup Car for track fun, Ford Ka dog kennel and town car for the day (great for parking in London and squeezing thru traffic) and Mitsubishi Pajero 4x4 for towing and off road fun.

Always desired something old and vintage for ambling down country lanes, one day.....

Porsche 964RS of course - basic model either in maritime blue or black and 300hp engine upgrade - to take risks in
Ferrari 456GT - manual box in dark blue , cream leather interior - to ogle - to cruise in
VW Golf TDI , from year 2000 to date - to get from A to B with passengers & shopping - to appear normal in

Since you asked ..............Bentley Speed Six

See:

nice choice Mel

when i was about 18 i did two weeks work with a chap called Dick Moss, working on pre war Bentleys as i was entertaining thoughts of doing car restoration as a career..[8D]
fantastic experience, the amount of skill his team had, and the quality of the work. the attention to detail also amazing.

Dick also took me out for a spin in his car - from memory an 8litre chassis with 2 seater bodywork. huge, really high and very fast. flying goggles de rigeur, doing 100mph at least through Bedfordshire country lanes..[:)] left a lasting impression that has yet to fade.

Dick has now handed over the reins of the business to his son, who is currently trying to break a load of speed records in Thunderbolt - the aero engined Bentley chassis - its in all the classic car mags at the moment. Looks like loads of fun!

I would have to take a Ferrari F40. I don't think I would need anything else in the garage. Having said that, one of those monster V8 engined landrovers featured on Top Gear a while ago would be a laugh.

Sure this list would change daily but tonights three are

Ruf ctr 2, for road work and occasional track day blasts
956 for track days
356 carrera 2 with fourcam engine for shows and holidays

No the 964RS is not there but I think I could live without it in the above company......................................just.

Laurence

I'm going to add something else too...

The F40 would have to have the sports exhaust and posh active suspension, and would replace the RS for weekend fun and track days.

I would add something old to polish...maybe a DB4 Zagato or a lightweight E-type, maybe a 250GTO if I had plenty of cash. I'd also be tempted by a GT-40, with Le Man heritage of course.

The final car in the garage would be another ex-race car. Not sure what - possible an RS1800 or RS2000 with good history, or an immaculate RS2600 or RS3100 capri. Or maybe a short wheelbase Quattro. Or an ex-Monte Carlo Mini Cooper. Hmmm, decisions....

So no Pork I'm afraid. If money was no object, I think the prancing horse would be a regular feature in the fantasy garage.

ORIGINAL: Laurence Gibbs

The Hakinen 964 cup car

It's for sale Laurence! About 80,000 sterling (and it's identical to mine....)

Sell the RS AND the house!!

but what car would you like Mel..[;)]

Oh, I forgeot, (says he looking at models of them...)

Or a 1926 Alfa Romeo 2300;

Or Ferrari 250GT0 SWB, both in red, of course....

As long as I can keep the Cup Car for track days!!
