Chaps,

There's an advert on pistonheads at the mo, here:

http://pistonheads.com/sales/3536186.htm

The car looks like this:

.. and I'm confused as to what it is! S2/turbo front end, but toast-rack back end. So, could be either lux or S2/Turbo, depending upon which end is non-standard.

But it also seems to have a boost gauge in the middle of the tachometer .... and sliding-caliper brakes.

Anyone want to make an educated guess? (And, if it is a turbo, it looks like a bargain!)

(And why are the lower front lights apparently half-etched out? US-spec front or something?)

Oli.

What's the extra gauge in the middle of the rev counter then? I thought this was only present on turbos.

(Could be a replacement dial set, but it seems to be producing a reading if you look closely.)

Am guessing its an economy meter ?

And in answer to the original question - Its a dogs dinner

Lux's had economy meters? Didn't know that. That's probably the end of this thread then - it's a Lux, with an economy meter and an S2 front end. And it looks like a dogs dinner ...

Not exactly an economy meter. More a needle that either reads "zero mpg" or "infinite mpg", occasionally sticking on around 30 when it hasn't been used for a while. As around 30 is what you get from a Lux, and you probably know this if you own one because you put the petrol in, then it's not the most useful option ever fitted to a sports car! [&:]

You never know, there could be a nice car lurking in there somewhere but there's not much to go on from the advert....

This car has been on Flea Bay at least twice and I swear it was discussed here last time ?

I actually very much like 'testefully' modified cars and my next 944 will be just that.
I am however well known for my hatred of side skirts on 944's.
TBH , if you took the Matrini stripes off I dont think it would look half bad and you have 300 quids worth of wheels ?

The car is definately a right state in its current form but if it was rust free and had some belt change history etc it could be a base for a project for a someone or am I going soft in my old age.

Regards

Mas

To me the section of the add that reads "Power chip and throttle cam..." would indicate to me that it's a blinged up Lux, after all when was the last time anyone with an S2 or Turbo fitted a throttle cam......
