Whats my next job/mod

After the gear linkage debacle, going to moan at the supplier as the quality is terrible, loads of play, shoddy finish, it was not expensive but its pretty crap, think my original problem was due to the old linakge not pivoting in both plants across the bush, its locked solid in the left to right plane, why the gearchange was crap, anyway, I digress.

Booking it in for a cam belt as it was due in Sept on time, even if it has only done 10k since the last one.

Body stuff, the few bits of crustness I will do, seats have been done so thats ticked off

I have a bonus from work where I can spend a few quid.

Full alignment but what else is a good mod before I get that done, thinking braided brake hoses and 968 castor mounts, also, getting a little judder under hard braking so what else can be done, might pull the calipers and take a look and perhaps disable it for another couple of months ;)

Decat, anyone got one, mentioned it before, worth doing, its already got a chip of some sort, perhaps a K and N filter.

poly bushing, its a cab so it knock my teeth out if I do anythign like that, dampers look ok, anything else suspension wise ?

The clock is knackered so will get the kit to fix that.

Steering, I can detect a little bit of play, UJ ?

Stereo, now, not into super load "ICE" but even with the JBL upgrade speakers int he doors its still pathetic, what else can you do in a cab to add a little extra to the sound, for when the roof is up, I look enough iof a sad old twat without 80s cheese blasting out with the roof down !

Any other suggestions, have some cash and plenty of leave, new spanners and am ready to improve it or do I just spend it on petrol ?

#1 suggestion to go faster - driver training ;-) www.carlimits.com are excellent.

For your car I suggest you fix anything that's not working properly (steering, juddering brakes) before upgrading things that aren't broken.

Mine has 968 castor mounts, braided brake hoses, better brake cooling & better brake fluid plus plenty of other little upgrades, but only from changing worn parts when they needed changing.

I have a K&N cone filter too & although it makes the car sound nicer it's about the only 'upgrade' that hasn't been better than the original part. Give that a miss imo.

I did a Supercar Experience a few weeks back and got some really good feedback off the instructors, apparentlay I have "Plenty to work with", I got a few extra laps as the chap was keen to get me trail braking and recommended I did some track days, seemeded genuine and I was going a lot faster than anything else out there, I am not some driving god by any stretch but I do have a decent amount of car control and understanding so some further training would be good, however my car is a cab so it isnt the last word in precision, relatively versus a coupe.

Think I will overhaul the brake,s the previous owner was pretty fastidious and there were recent bills but I want to be sure everything is spot on.

T3rra, you need to clear your inbox mate ;)
