What's Going On With PH Then...?

Presuming that people have seen the resurrected PH thread? I thought initially that Cavendish Porsche Limited was an enterprise that Paul was part of and the names and dates seem to suggest that, but its hard getting the full picture from sites which give you an insight, but who are in business of selling the information.

After a bit of further digging, because PH Sportscars (UK) Ltd didnt ring true as PHs incorporated name, it transpires that the (UK) which is now Cavendish Porsche Limited with Simon Petty as a director (and some fellow called Adam Caulfied who has a string of failed directorships in his past) is a completely different company to Pauls which was and still is PH Sports Cars Ltd.

Ive known PH for twenty years and I like the bloke, so I cant really ring up and ask 'whats going on then?', but Im am extremely curious.

I still suspect that there is a connection though, due to the similarity of the company names. My reasoning is that unless there was a connection I would expect the Secretary of State to have refused the (UK) name, because it is far too similar to have required an appeal.

I would not trust Companies House or any other registrar to check names as I know of several instances of trading names (registered or otherwise) that are very similar even in the same general locality and field of business. Companies House are quite slow to resolve any issues.

Its difficult to say too much on a public forum but I have spoken to Paul at PH and I am told that a long standing employee left recently and appears to have tried to set up a rival outfit with a very similar name nearby. He may have left at very short notice in dubious circumstances. That new outfit has now had to change its name. There appears to have been a deliberate attempt to divert identity, customers, business, reputation and other aspects of Paul's business to the new outfit and I suspect that this did not happen overnight. Even the changed name has been deliberately chosen to cause confusion.

There is more & I don't think it will end there but I'll leave it at that. It all seems underhand and investigations may be under way.

To be clear, there is absolutely no connection between Paul at PH Sportscars at Shardlow and this new outfit at Long Eaton.

I have known Paul for about 18 years and like the guy. His firm have done work on cars for me, I have bought a car from him and they have looked after me when I have asked for advice. My trust and recommendations stay with Paul and his guys at PH Sportscars, Shardlow. He retains long standing employees like Rob who are very capable and have known their way around Porsches for a very long time.

I don't think there's much more to add, apart from saying that I know which business I will be going to when I need work doing - and it won't be in long Eaton.

This is going to end very badly for some people.

I would have done, in fact Id expect them to query anything similar. Im surprised that this has happened and obviously my earlier conjecture was inaccurate.

Im not altogether surprised by this, but that is by the by.
