what wheels fit the 86 944T

one of my teledials has a slight buckle which is annoying me very much

new front tyres and two different balances before having rears looked at and spotted the buckle.

cheap option would be to find a rear 8.5 J teledial but I'm told they are quite prone to buckling.

dont know how true that is.

certainkly haven't kerbed it and wheel;s are in excellent nick.

any how, looking a cheap options for wheel replacement.

I see boxter alloys often listed.

could someone more knowledgable than I tell me the pcd of the wheel I need/have and what offset to also look for in the new wheel.

or perhaps even what wheels fit without the need for spacers.

cheers

According to the table on this page http://www.connact.com/~kgross/FAQ/944faq13.html the offsets for an 86 Turbo are fronts ET 10.6 and rears Et 23.3 . This is a little odd as i was under the impression that all early models had an off set of 23.3 all round but either way this rules out using Boxster alloys as these have a much higher offset which is only suitable for 87 on wards 944's . A bit of a shame since i have a set of 17" Boxster wheels which i might have been able to sell you [;)] . it's not all lost though if you fancy Boxster style wheels (Turbo Twist / Cup 3's) as there are after market replicas (made by Mille Miglia )which you can buy with compatible off sets .

I think Cup Mg teledials were rather 8" & 9", not sure there ever was a 8.5" wide teledial...?

Should be different offset for different wheel widths, other wise they would stick out too far (or not enough!)

Good point well made [:)] . The wheels on my square dash are the same offset all round but they are all 7J .

I have a mint set of 17" cups for an early car for the right money, fit straight on and pack the arches out, i will not be putting them back on my 220 as i love my Teledials [:D]

is there any other wheel other than the cup 3 that fits straight on without spacers and doesn't cost the earth?

looking at fleebay for rear teledial and cup 3 items but wonder what else is to choose from.

cheers

Those are Mille miglia wheels not original cup , the originals only come in late offset. Without spacers you can fit only aftermarket wheels with the right offset usually between +10 to +25. Original porsche wheels that you can fit to '86 models and earlyer are only teledials and fuchs .

Yes ,magnesium Cup teledials are only 8"& 9" and standard turbo alluminium teledials are only 7"& 8" .
8.5" teledials dont exist.
