What is this pipe ?

On the picture below there is a pipe in front of the letter 'P' on the rocker cover which desends down to what looks like onto the downpipes, can anyone tell me what it does or what its for?

It's a tube that connects to the cross pipe and supposed to be used to measure the mixture with a factory CO2 tester.

So if on a car I have looked at the pipe was blocked off with a bolt should I be concerned ?

No, they are virtually all capped off at the crossover.

It won't be a bolt that you see, just a blanking plug with a hex head.
