..............that makes the 944 just so much fun to drive? I've got a 996 cab that makes me feel all Clarksonesque 'poweeerrrr' when I drive it - but the 944 gives me the Hammond giggles and whoops. Just came back from my favourite bit of A40 here in Monmouth and realised I had a huge grin breaking out every time it scythed around a corner. It may not be as fast, it may not emit such a blood curdling howl and it may not even corner as fast as the 996...but it makes me feel even better! Oi loves it!
 
I ended up like that when I was bringing my lad home from school the other day, 24 miles of country lanes and sweeping A roads with very light traffic, lots of late braking and effortless exits just made me want to go faster and faster.

My lad yelled Clarkson! everytime we came on boost a little early out of a corner and it got a bit squirmy/leery

We were grinning ear-ear
 
Could be something to do with the 50/50 weight distribution [;)]
That gives you so much confidence, chucking it into the corners.
And the rear always lets you know, when its just about to breakaway, before it actually does.
