As per the title... The connector on mine has been shot to pieces for as long as I can remember, yet car has appeared to function perfectly (most of the time)... Just looking forward to releasing and extra fifty horses, and and extra 50 miles on a tank-full by fixing it!

There's a sensor there?

Crumbs. I've never noticed one. Got photos?

Maybe mine has dropped off, and I am also lacking those 50 horses and 50miles-per-tank ...

You might get something... [:)]

Not 100% sure for the S2, but on most modern engines the camshaft sensor is a fine detail correction, effectively telling the engine management eactly when to fire the ignition for best efficiency.

A quick scan through the W/Shop manual tells me that the DME will retard the ignition timing across all speed ranges by 6° if it does not have the luxury of this information (i.e it will just rely on the 60-2 crank trigger).

Ouch! £147.something from Porsche... for a broken connector... Off to the usual sources!

Either that or see if I have a similar connector somewhere and splice it on...

Believe you me, you need every pony available in the rush-hour race in the morning!
Gaskets for Turbo ordered from PCB this morning[:)]
