Been sorting the heater clip out on the 220(now blowing cold) whilst in there i have been shedding redundant added on wiring, every 944 i have owned has tons of add on wiring old alarms, disc changers etc, is it just me ?
Anyway i digress, what are the corrugated cardboard like pipes for, there are 2 of them one either side of the centre console, mine are just dangling doing nothing.
I am guessing they are heating / aircon related, can anyone clarify where they are supposed to start and terminate ?

One goes from the vent on the left hand dash trim to the cabin sniffer fan to sample cabin air temperature. The other goes to a hole on the other side of the HVAC unit and plugs into the back of the glove box to air conditio/heat it as appropriate. They thought of everything those Germans didn't they [;)] I removed mine and covered the hole with aluminium duct tape.

Cheers Rob, mine has a rubber pipe running to the cabin sniffer, one looks as though it is leading to the rear of the glovebox the one on the right side of the car just seems to be sitting behind the centre console.

It runs from the back of the glove box up behind the centre vents and plugs into a hole on the back right of the HVAC mixing chamber. If you put the blower on you will easily find the hole.
