I feel like I am turning to this forum every other day but....
Can anybody reach the same conclusion as me?
I was doing 75 (+/- 10mph) when out of the door mirror I could see white smoke. It turns out the smoke was steam and the temp gauge started to rise. In looking for a safe place to pull over I had to travel a mile or so until I stop all the time I am scanning a rising temp gauge (warning that coolant low started to blink) and the warning light array. Just as I found a place to stop, power steering went, battery light and ABS light come on.
Checked in the engine bay, no apparent leak on top of the engine (steam from forward section of the engine) and no fan belt
My theory - water pump failure, unbalanced pulley on pump shreds belt or displaces it
Anyone feel that it could be a different diagnosis
