Stevie,

Your best bet is to use the search function on here; leaks come up fairly often and there are a number of things you need to look at.

Hi Steve, and welcome.

First thing to check is remove the sunroof and pour water carefully down the four drain holes. If it doesn't come out under the car, you know it's blocked. Be careful clearing them, as the drain tube is pushed on to the sockets under the sunroof and a pig to re-attach; flexible nylon wire, like strimmer cable, is best.

Another obvious one is the drains in the front bulkhead. The area under the bottom of the windscreen fills with leaves and muck, and there are drains here as well.

There are plenty of other possibilities, but these are the most likely.

1st check that it's just the front foot well, and just one side.

A few things that cause leaks in the front are
battery tray( b4 85.5 so your ok there )

Windscreen need rebonding.
Front sunroof drain tubes, these run down under the trim in the corner off the windscreen, and out in 2 the front buck head.
Heater area under the windscreen wipers.
Door sills

Do some tests when it's dry, isolate areas, like just sunroof drain tubes. Pour water in to them and see if the floor gets wet.
Try the below the windscreen
And then the windscreen.

heater matrix pipes are on drivers side - check these were they enter matrix and the firewall.

cheers

Thanks for the response guys there a few things I will look into once it is dry as suggested on here... but I live in Scotland!
Today when I was in the car I had my foot on the brake pedal and could feel a slow drip so at least I have an area to start with as well as all the suggestions on here.

Thanks

Stevie.

It might be the rear hatch leaking too, do you park facing downhill? Mine used to,leak through where the mushrooms latch, there's a tube that attaches that sends the water out of the car, similar to the sunroof. Mine was facing downhill very slightly and leaning to the left and then passenger foot well would fill with water.

A car cover is the answer ;)

Check under the bonnet behind the plastic cover that hides the heater motor this area can easily fill with water if the drains into the main engine compartment aren't free or if the area against the bulkhead gets full of leaves the water can then leak into the cabin directly under the dash and floor carpets via the heater motor mounting gasket which can is bolted to the bodywork but can become loose or the gasket fails, you may find someone has had the motor unit out and forgotten to replace all the small bolts which will also allow water in.you can check by lying on the floor passenger side looking up under the dash behind the glovebox and centre console, the heater blower can be seen from there as can any water. Easiest fix is to carefully remove the plastic shroud in the engine bay and clean out the rubbish that might be around the heater blower and wiper unit, the cables running behind there also can act like a dam and hold water in, clean it out have a check if all the bolts are in and tight then pour some water in and check from inside.
