All,
What sort of security are we normally required to have on our RSs?

My insurance company is speccing Thathcham Cat 1 Alarm/Immob + tracker, is this reasonable?

Also does anyone know a company/individual in the Cheshire area that can be trusted to do a good job without butchering the car!

Thanks in advance,
Kevin.

I don't think that it is unreasonable to ask for those items, although some insurers don't ask for tracker. Remember, our cars don't have any security - not even central locking!

Kevin,
I had a Black Box 2 recently fitted by a company called Hamilton & Palmer. It is thatcham cat 1.
They did a pretty good job. Not sure though if they are nationwide.
It's the Porsche PA2000 system just renamed apparently..
Insurer did not require a tracker.
Cheers,
Jon

kevin...re insurance..give performance marque a call 0121 2480996 they insured my rs with royal sun alliance ...no requirement for any alarm or immobiliser or tracker..porche club track days are covered foc other track days a fee is payable based on cars value...I have taken cover for a track day next week for £65 including £15 fee...hope this helps.

Privilege were happy with a Thatcham 2 immobiliser on a LHD RS --- but they were concerned that it had been correctly VSIB certificated.

Maybe the four dogs made a difference ?
