Useless Sun Visor

It was lovely weather yesterday afternoon in my neck of the woods, so I decided to take the Cayman out for a run. Mistake..! With the low sun in my eyes when driving west I could barely see where I was going even with the sun visor at it's lowest position.

I reckon that I must be a typical 95 percentile man and I like to sit fairly upright in the seat with it at its lowest position and I had to wind the seat height adjustment up to max (which gave me a most uncomfortable driving position) for the sun visor to be of minimal benefit.

For some unknown reason the visor does seem to me to be rather shallow (certainly when compared with my Golf's visor) and there doesn't seem to be any good reason why an extra couple of centimetres couldn't have been added to it.

Bit of a drop-off by Porsche in my opinion. About as useful as the proverbial chocolate teapot for me..!

Anyone else suffering the same problem?

Take 1 sheet of A4 paper. Fold in half. Slide over the visor when needed for the "extra-low" sun. Adjust as required.
 
Ha! Yes, the old A4 sheet trick. I'd forgotten that Mark. Pity that for all their expertise, Porsche couldn't engineer something better in the first case to suit all drivers. Maybe in their quest to save weight they decided to shave a couple of centimetres off the visors. Thanks for the tips chaps. Jeff

Just goes to show that you can't cater for everyone Richard! I'm just over 5'9" and, as far as I know, have an average proportion of upper to lower body length. Fred: Thanks for the heads-up. It's always a problem for me at this time of the year when the sun is very low in the sky. Probably by the time I invest in some form of visor extension the sun will have gone..! Jeff
 
I think you need one of these for Christmas, Jeff. Visor, that is, not the bike (or the woman...)[:)]

The life expectancy of the Sun is approximately 12 billion years, give or take a few months, so you have a bit of time to get one. I wouldn't waste money on paying for 1st class postage as you should receive it using 2nd class in time! Cheers,

Yes, but only a billion years before life on Earth disappears....so not as much time as you may think...[:D]

Judging by the time some 2nd class postage is taking these days Fred, ESA's Gaia satellite could well have mapped the whole of the Milky Way before the package arrives.! Jeff
