Upgrading Steering Wheel

Hi all,

I'm looking to swap my existing steering wheel out for a 991 / Macan / Cayenne style steering wheel in my 997.2.

I've done some reading on the change and it looks pretty straight forward but haven't been able to find out whether its possible to retain the steering wheel functions. I've found a 2015 Cayenne steering wheel with controls that looks a good option, would anyone know if this is simply a plug & play job or would an adaptor be needed?

Hi, I spent quite a while researching this as wanted to replace rocker wheel with sports wheel. Mine would have been a simple swap as the wheels had no controls. However, I noted that if it did then coding was more than likely. I suggest contacting Migmann who were exceptionally helpful and will be able to advise.

I know there are variations in the wheels - but. I put a 991 multifunction heated wheel on my 987.2 PDK car - physical straight swap - needed coding to wake up multifunction ( it didn't have them before - that was the reason for the swap) - and it needed a replacement clock spring to provide the physical connections for the heating element - again - that needed coding.

In my case the wheel was physically the same size, airbag swapped over etc - but i was essentially swapping like for like with more buttons- sounds like you already have multifunction - so there must be some other difference - or are you looking at the small sport design, smaller airbag wheel ?
