Upgrading Pads/discs

I was thinking about upgrading my pads/discs during my next service (48,000 mile) for my ' 97 2.5 boxster, maybe getting the red lacquer finish for the calipers for the ' Big Red' look?

Does anyone have any suggestions? I was thinking maybe EBC Greenstuff/Reds or Pagid Orange pads, and Zimmerman cross drilled discs.

Will these upgrades make a significant difference to the braking performance of the car, or should I just stick to the usual suspects?

I ordered Ebc greenstuff pads 2 weeks ago for my Boxster and they have finally arrived today[:)] I had them on my previous 944S2 and found they had less fade, dust and more bit than the standard pads.
Drilled discs look nice, but I' ve had them start to crack after a while. I know there fitted on the ' S' but it' s probably a beefier disc.
You can buy red heat proof paint from most car accessory shops, I think the one I used is by Hammerite. For best results though you need to remove the caliper from the car. If I manage to do mine this week I' ll send you a piccy.
 
Thanks a lot Tony, appreciate the advice. How much did you get the Greenstuff' s for? I' m looking forward to getting the upgraded pads just a bit worried that because they are harder than regular pads and will probably wear the discs down faster. Oh well no pain no gain!
 
I bought new discs & pads all round for my 2.5 from Type 911. They supplied Zimmerman discs at a much lower price than the OPC' s. I did upgrade the front discs to cross drilled for trackday use, but never got to try them out before trading up to an S. They looked OK though.
Getting the " big red" look however, was not for me.

 
Sorry, correction on the paint, it' s CAR PLAN ENGINE LACQUER.

The pads where about £70 for the front, as where the new front discs. The old discs seem to be the original ones and have lasted 48,000, so even if the new ones last half as long I doubt if I will still have the car by then!

I' ve seen you drive mate - there' s no chance that those new pads will last you even half the mileage that your cars done now![:D]
My chest is still sore from the seat belt after the last time I was your passenger 3 weeks ago !!!!!!!!!
Mind you the G force on my face took out the odd wrinkle or 4!

Tony, love the colour of your car, and love the Red paint job on the calipers, nice alloys too (same as mine!).
