Yonderman is only a few miles from us. Would have joined you but I’ve recently had a knee job and can’t currently drive. Have a good day!

Pity about the A54 closure :-( .

Think I will bring some pack up and a flask next time.

Playmates.

Yesterday, with some time on my hands and feeling somewhat disappointed following our run out on Tuesday (we had tried several places to get a bite to eat but unexpectedly they were all either busy or closed) I decided to call in and check out The Yondermann Cafe as per Mr G's original suggestion.

From the outside this doesn't appear to be a particularly inviting place - the car park is roughly made and has potholes and puddles scattered around whilst the building itself has a sort of institutional 'public utility' look about it. Inside its all Soviet Cold War era Brutalist grey decor with metal chairs wooden tables and little else.

As I stepped inside I could see the place was three quarters full of middle aged / elderly bikers who seemed to be regulars - it had been impossible to miss noticing their expensive looking retro style machines parked up in a long row across the front. Closing the door behind me I looked back and saw there were no other cars around and I sensed that my old 986 must have looked pretty incongruous to these leather clad diners.

Walking up to the counter I could see there were no staff about so I stood and waited there for a minute or two. I looked up at the specials board and noticed there was beef stew with roast potatoes and peas on offer so I made my mind up to try a helping. As I turned back towards the counter I was met by a tallish very smart looking middle aged woman who wore a very elegant classic Chanel style patterned jacket and precisely fitting designer jeans.

She took my order.

I relaxed - there was nothing to worry about.

Both the food and service was very good if you are ever in the area give it a try.

Nice one Mark.

Regards.

Zeusy.
