My car also has an ugly arial stuck on the back windscreen, and an aftermarket blue tooth CD radio. The original screen also has the arial in it. The new blue tooth CD radio is handy as it has hands free, but I would like to fit an original unit. Do I have any options, as the Bremen SQR45 is rare and expensive.

Not original but look out for the vdo/continental brands, they suit these cars pretty well

There is an expensive option around £1000 that looks classic and gives the bonus of satnav. Just a thought if your budget was limited for a secondhand replacement, would it be different if you were buying new? Hi Gordon,
you can get original stereos, e.g. Blaupunkts that were fitted as standard, but very expensive.
i had the original radio cassette in my 3.2 garage queen show car which I'd put in when doing the club concours and sure scored points, but to be honest, was pretty crap compared to modern alternatives.
i had a loom conversion harness and switched it out for a black Sony radio cd for the rest of the time.
As Steve says the Porsche classic is the dogs, looks good etc, but not cheap. Depends what you want.
you can get non working original units cheap for asthetics, and some people do this and have a concealed iPod type unit in the glove box for use.
sat nav wise, best to use phone with something like Waze app.
the screen aerial is ok..ish.
loose the stick-0n job unless you want to retain the 80's yuppie look. My car still has the hard wired phone clues on the centre consol and in the bonnet area where you can see evidence of the mountings.
i guess these things do show a certain extent of originality, which I quite like in a way.
its great fun getting your first 3.2, Im envious.
regards
Graham

Hi If you need the antenna booster part no 92864517302 (page 475 of PET) I would be interest in selling one.
My 1987 targa had the option of a tinted front screen with the radio ariel . But someone has drilled a hole in the targa hoop to take a stubby ariel all the parts are intact but unfortunately the front screen has started to delaminate on the bottom corners & has lots of stone chips, as I will be replacing the screen with a standard one but use the hole in the hoop

Came across these on eBay, don't know if they are to your liking or not. I do know that Becker units will cost a pretty penny as I have just refitted my Grand Prix and the value second hand is greater than what I paid new.

I have a Blaupunkt Toronto SQR 46 and the Blaupunkt BQA 80 Amp, its been sitting in my garage for the last 9yrs ,just haven't got round to fit it ,I keep meaning to , their are no wires and I don't know if its coded or not it came out of my 89 Supersport
What I plan to do is check under the drivers seat (I think) for the harness from the amp to the radio , if its there I will fit it back at some point , if not then I might be tempted to get rid , I really don't listen to music in the car I prefer the engine sound
