Hi,

Is anyone running Falken ZE912's on their 944? I have them on the back and they seem fine in both the wet and the dry. ( They meet the speed rating and load rating etc for a 944 ) I need two for the front and Camskill are doing 205/50/17's for £69 each inc vat and p&p which seems pretty good.

Not to be a nit or anything but Porsche recommends the same maker and model of tire on all four corners. They are even against mixing N specs between front and rear. It is getting more and more difficult to get the same maker and type what with our staggered sizes and the fact that the fronts last twice as long as the rears. Best to stick with the same maker/model on both ends IMHO...

Sorry - I'm running Bridgestone RE050A Pole Positions on my S2 ( I can still get N spec S02s but I really don't like the tread pattern) as they are available in the correct sizes front and rear. They are wearing pretty well so I don't know if I'll be able to get S02s when I need a new set.....

Thats good to know because I need a pair of tyres for my replacement wheels and I saw the falkens were at a good price.

Cheers guys,

I normally do put the same on the front as the back, but I've never owned a car with this type of performance and wondered if the Falkens were the right choice. My local tyre fitters can do the ZE912's for the same price as Camskill + fitting so I'll get them locally.

.............next job after this .. the small tear in the rear seat squab !

I've been running Falken FK 452s on my 944 for the last 4 years and they've been great, wet or dry (and in wet snow, with the obvious caveats). They've worn really well even though the car is driven enthusiastically. From other forums I use, the Falken tyres seem to receive good feedback si I will be replacing mine with Falken again. Are the ZE912 a new pattern?

It is not a replacement for the 452: it looks like more of an all-weather tyre.

Hi Scott,

Kirkley Run tyres in Lowestoft, if I buy them from Camskill they're £138 delivered, Kirkley run will fit inc. balance and new valves for £27 the pair .... or supply and fit for £168 - so only £3 dearer , might as well give a local company the business.

From the spec page that Lowtimer linked they look like a good all round tyre for a 944, ( given the typical british weather ) they're speed rated to 169mph so should be ok !!
