Turbo towing lug source?

Anyone have a turbo towing lug they could part with? Sure I had one but it seems to have vanished... I'll be needing one for the Bedford track day on 25th March.

Porsche Part number 951 722 101 00 but no stock in UK or Germany. Looks like the Turbo is different to other models.

Or is there any other option? Tried Design 911 but they are also out of stock.

cheers
Craig

Promax have them listed, are the turbo/s2 ones different? I thought I'd lent one to a turbo owner before from my Lux!

Craig,
I am sure one of the spectators would lend you theirs on the day if you can't source one by the day, try Elliot as I thought he was attending Rutland on Sunday, also try Jon Mitchell as he is having a clear out before he moves premises.

If all Fails, I will lend you mine on the day if they are the same, we can try on Sunday, we will just have to go out on track at different times

PET shows 3 different part numbers:
996 721 151 00
928 722 101 05 for M058
951 722 101 11 for TURBO

No idea what the difference is though... but yes will try Promax if Alasdair and Elliot don't have. Thks.

The thread will be the same it will just be the length due to the bumpers

I ordered one for my turbo a few years back it didn't fit. The OPC had ordered a Lux 944 one instead of a turbo one.

The turbo had an opposite hand thread if i remember correctly.

The 220 Turbo uses the same towing eye as the S2. PET # 951 722 101 00. I'll be at the event and you can borrow my one for charging around the track if all else fails.

It cant be as the the rear bumper support it screws into is the same for all 944

Except a 944Lux doesn't have a towing eye in the rear bumper, it's located below the bumper to the off side of the spare wheel carrier.

I think that's the same mounting point, just that it's hidden by the larger rear bumper on the S2/turbos?

S2 Turbo mount in the black rubbing strip Lux ones are below. No idea about threads though. Fronts also mount differently.

The cars have a threaded mounting for the eye in the offside rear body, but its obscured by the underbody spoiler on Turbo bodies cars.

They got around this by fixing the towing eye into an internally threaded bumper mount on these cars, similar to that used on the front of the normally aspirated 8v cars.

So if (like me) you have a 944 Lux with a turbo rear spoiler, you can't use the rear towing socket..anyone know how to sort that out????

Or fix a turbo/ S rear bumper and bumper shock. U prob just fit turbo rubber strip no need 4 paint then, and cut a hole in your bumper. Iv got a toe shock if your after one

There are three variations on the same solution. What you should do is replace your standard bumper with a Turbo style rear bumper and mount. Alternatively you can fit only the threaded mount which will require you to remove the bumper in order to tow.

Finally theres the easiest solution / biggest bodge: do nowt and if you need to tow or pull your own vehicle backwards, remove the bumper and bracket and secure a rope to mounting area.

Is suggest making sure that you have a suitable threaded mounting bracket as a minimum and getting a Turbo rear bumper when you can. Traditionally, the rear bumper is worthless and the Turbo bumper is only valued for its rubbing strip. Find one on which this is damaged and you should be able to buy it for peanuts.
