Evening All !
So for the last few weeks I've been using the Turbo as a daily driver. I've noticed on a regular basis that when switching the engine off, the electric water pump runs for several minutes instead of the standard 27secs.
When I replaced the belts and took the front of the engine apart. I noticed two things that could contribute to this:
1. I noticed the temp sender unit that sits in the metal water pipe going into the turbo water feed was loose - the sender wobbles in the nut.
2. the water feed on the side of the turbo thermostat housing - small plastic elbow that sits on the top of the water pump had a bit of gunge in it, which I hooked out.
Anyhow, as I had to take the air box off to try a an AFM that Rob W has kindly loaned me, I thought I'd pull the turbo thermostat off to check it wasn't gunged up and was working fine.
Only to find that the elbow is actually blind ie. sealed off so the turbo water feed through the metal framework doesn't flow ! There is a fully fucntional (watched it open in boiling water) mini thermostat that sits within the housing .
So the big question is, should I drill this out so that it will work ?
