Trying to get a black exhaust tailpipe trim

Part number is 477 253 191 C: OPC don't list them any more, and Design 911 advise that the part number has been superseded by an item costing 4 times as much (ie £70+) and chrome plated (oh dear oh dear).
Anyone know a source for a proper black oval trim? Or should I just bin the lot and buy a proper (no-cat) free-flow fat exhaust?

Yup the black trim isnt made anymore its what my 90 turbo had from new and when i did some cosmetic work on it i tried to source one and came up blank...its now got a chrome one.....best i could get.The original exhaust feels more free flowing than the Dansk version (that felt under pressure and whistled)so the original exhaust is quite a good part in my book(if you want to keep the car looking stock).
Fabspeed motorsport do a lovely 3.5 inch system if you want to ditch the standard settup.

Try these guys.I have bought mandrel bends and boxes etc from them before in order to custom make exhausts for various cars.

Defo worth a try. They may not have what you want on the site but give them a call.I have no affiliation at all with this company just some one i have used in the past.

Zircotec will coat tail pipes or indeed all the exhaust any colour you want with heat protective/insulative coatings. Used by various manufacturers

I rubbed my chrome tail pipe down with some emery cloth, zinc primed it then 3-4 coats of engine mat black sprayed on
Early days but still ok after 300 miles

The black tips were NLA about 15 years ago!

High temp exhaust paint works a treat as lacedr says!

Hmmm, and I always thought the people with black tips had painted their beat up chrome ones because they were too tight to get a new chrome one :ROFLMAO:

I was going to suggest High temp paint or powdercoating the tailpipe.

I guess that being a tailpipe on a more silenced system it is not subject to extreme heat. The Wortec tip on my car get pretty damn hot, enough to add a yellow tint to the pipe along with burning outside dirt onto the tailpipe (nothing a bit of metal polish does not sort mind you!).
